The card fixture at Straumshorn Hotell is a small in-person event run in the upper loftstove of the salting-house, under Norwegian Gaming Authority licence, for registered house guests over the age of eighteen. It is open by appointment with reception only, is not advertised, and is closed on Sundays and during the annual maintenance closure from 7 January to 4 February each year.
This website does not offer gambling services, does not accept wagers, does not promote any form of online or remote play, and is not a marketing site for the loftstove fixture. It is an editorial site that describes the hotel where we live and work.

Our own practice
Eirik at reception will decline a request to attend the loftstove fixture from a guest he feels should not be attending, and is not required to give a reason. The fixture is closed each week to give a break in the rhythm of the hotel, and each year through the long maintenance closure of January and early February.
No one under the age of eighteen is admitted to the upper loftstove during the fixture, and the door is staffed for the duration. The fixture is not open to non-residents of the hotel.
